Benton, KY Son Seekers BBQ Team Earns First Grand Championship
God has and continues to Bless Son Seekers BBQ Team. We competed in our first contest for the 2011 season in Benton, KY on April 1st and 2nd. Things went very well for us as we won our very first Grand Championship! It has been a long time coming but let me tell you, the wait was worht it! So much thanks to give to everyone. But first of all we give thanks to God for allowing us to serve him with our BBQ Ministry. During the awards the announcer said "No wonder you're doing so well - You've got God on your team". How right he is. God is our very best team member! We also thank all of our friends and loyal customers that support us though prayer and purchasing product from us when we custom cook. We could not do what we do without you! A tremendous thank you to our wonder wives! We totally couldn't do this without their support and love. Next up for us is Louisville, Ky for the Run For The Ribs Contest. We can't hardly wait to see what God has instore for us there! Johnny and Jim, Brothers From Different Mothers!

Off Season
Hello Friends and Family,
The "off season" has been pretty busy for Son Seekers BBQ Team. Lots of custom cooking to raise money so that we can cook the competition trail this year. Thanks to all of our loyal customers for supporting us in our ministry.
Spring is in the air and we are now busy getting ready for the 2011 competition season. It is hard to believe this will be our 6th season competing in KCBS contest. Hopefully this will be the year of our first Grand Championship!
First up for Son Seekers is the Benton, KY Tatar Days BBQ Festival on April 1st and 2nd. We purchased a new Jambo Backyard Smoker for the team in January and we have been doing a lot a practice cooks getting ready for Benton.
Next we will be cooking in the Louisville, KY Run for the Ribs Contest held on May 6th and 7th. This should be a fun and challenging contest with some of the best BBQ teams in the country competing. I think we are readdy though. We will see.
Our third contest of 2011 will be in Lebanon, KY on May 20th and 21st. This is a first year contest and we look forward to meeting the fine folks in that part of the state.
Well that's our schedule so far. Many things are up in the air for us at this time but I am sure God will see us through it all just as he always does. Along with competing we will be doing several custom cooks throughout the year.

Pastor Appreciation Pot Luck October 31, 2010
On Sunday October 31st Jim and I smoked up a 137 pound pig for our Pastor Appreciation Sunday Pot Luck. Boy did it turn out good! Many good complements from our church family.
Next up - Thanksgiving Turkeys!
