Competition Season Over But Our Work Begins

While Son Seekers BBQ Team finished up its 2010 competition season our real work just begins.

We begin our off season by cooking Pork Loins for the Hopkins County Detention's Center Great Banquet Week end on October 30, 2010. Blessing for all of the team members that will be serving on the Banquet Team. Our prayers go out to the inmates that will be attending God Banquet. My those that do not know Christ come to know him on this week end.

We will be cooking a Whole Hog for Pastor's appreciation day on October 31, 2010. This will be our second whole hog as a team and we hope it turns out as good as the first!

On November 24th and 25th we will be smoking and selling Turkeys for the Thanksgiving Holiday. Last year we smoked 49 turkeys :-)

Sometime in November we will be cooking and selling Jim's World's Famous Burgoo. We'll send out the details when finalized.

On December 22nd we'll be smoking and selling wonderful semi-boneless hams. Better get you order in early!

Oh don't forget the Super Bowl Butts in January.

More on our off season later....

Did I mention that through all of this we will be practicing and perfecting out Pulled Pork recipe?? :-)

Metropolis Super City Blues and Ques

Our visit to the Super City the 2nd week end in October was awesome! Beautiful City, Great Weather and a great contest. We finished a respectable 10th place overall out of 27 tough teams. Congrats to Mike and Debbie of Lotta Bull on their Grand and to Warren County Pork Choppers on their 4th place finish.

It has been great cooking with and against everyone this year. We are done competiting for 2010 and already looking forward to 2011. Hurry up April!!!

I must say the highlight of our entire year was Friday afternoon at the Metropolis Blues and Ques Contest. Son Seekers BBQ Team gave out almost 100 wooden crosses to youth that wandered by our cook site. Kids were running around everywhere wearing their crosses. It was beautiful!!!

Thank you Lord for allowing us to do what we do!!
